Plant a Tree
Help the planet by planting trees. Cambridge Past, Present & Future are planting a new woodland to create new wildlife habitat, reduce air pollution and store carbon. This is part of their efforts to create a Cambridge Nature Network.
They will provide tools, instructions and trees. However if you have your own spade then please bring it with you as there may not be enough for everyone.
Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty and wearing boots or wellies is recommended.
Bring a drink and a snack to keep you going.
No need to book, just turn up. All welcome including under 18s if accompanied.
The planting will take place in Madingley Paddock. This is the triangular field between Madingley Road and Cambridge Road. Access is via a gate on Cambridge Road (approx 200 metres from Madingley Road junction). You can use What3Words to find the location: https://w3w.co/hoot.rising.rigid
Please make your own way to the field and you will be greeted there:
- If coming by cycle, you can bring your cycle into the field where it will be safe.
- If coming by car, please park in the Coton Orchard Garden Centre car park and walk from there to the field (this is a walk of 500 metres and will involve crossing Madingley Road and walking alongside Cambridge Road). The garden centre has kindly allowed volunteers to park there for this activity.
