We Were There - Duxford IWM
'We Were There' is Imperial War Museums' remarkable programme where visitors can meet real life veterans and eyewitnesses of war. Get the unique opportunity to meet eyewitnesses to conflict and gain first-hand insight into the impact of war on people' lives. These special guests will be placed across the museum to converse with visitors, drawing upon their personal stories of conflict, from diving a tank to being evacuated. All eyewitnesses and veterans are volunteers who give their time to share these important stories. They have a wide range of stories - from being evacuated during the Second World War, to living through The Troubles in Northern Ireland, serving in the Royal Navy during the Falklands War and more.
