Due to popular demand, this exhibition has been extended until 30 August.

This latest exhibition at gallery above & beyond celebrates the work of Julia Ball — a much-loved Cambridge artist and teacher. Julia lived and worked in Cambridge from the early 1960s until her death in February this year.

Although largely abstract, Julia’s paintings are suggestive of landscapes, filled with light and colour. Many were inspired by Quy Fen, where she spent 30 years observing the same spot. She also drew from the varied East Anglian fens and coastlines, responding not only to the natural world but also to the region’s historic architecture and built forms.

After visiting the exhibition take the opportunity to check out Etcetera, a collection of vintage and collectibles housed in the Green Barn behind the gallery.
