Sharing Linton's Stories

Linton

The “Sharing Linton’s Stories” is a collaborative based exhibition taking place across three venues in Linton. The exhibition came out of a project between Linton Library and the arts and wellbeing charity Arts and Minds.

In Autumn 2023, with funding from Linton Parish Council, Linton Library hosted six free daytime workshops led by local artist Clare Basel. With an overall theme of mapping the community, each session looked at different aspects of life in Linton (History, Social Gatherings, Streets & Lanes, Growing Spaces) and explored each topic through art.

The sessions brought together a variety of participants – lifelong residents, new arrivals and included a mix of ages. They gathered to exchange stories as they worked together on their artwork, and later fed back about the positive benefits of the project as it helped to build new friendships and encouraged creativity in a supportive atmosphere.

You can see the exhibition at the following venues: Linton Library, gallery above & beyond and Linton Art Gallery & Studio.
