Peter Colley’s I’ll Be Back Before Midnight is a taut, psychological, ghost-story thriller served up with a generous helping of dark comedy: by turns mysterious, funny, and terrifying.

Greg, a PhD student in archaeology, rents an old farmhouse in the country as a retreat for his wife Jan, recovering from a nervous breakdown. When their landlord, George, tells stories of a terrible murder and a ghost haunting the house, Jan’s imagination begins to take over.

Things worsen with the arrival of Greg’s beautiful but manipulative sister, Laura. Jan is soon tormented by strange sounds and ghostly visions. Increasingly isolated, she seems to be heading toward another breakdown. Are the things she sees real or imagined? As she struggles to understand, events take a horrific turn...
