Denny Abbey & the Farmland Museum is hosting a summer of hands-on history, with themed craft activities taking place every Thursday and Friday throughout the school holidays.
Each week explores a different time period, offering engaging activities for families and children to discover the past in a fun and interactive way.
What’s happening and when:
23–24 July: Archaeology Week 🏺
Try hands-on archaeological activities and enjoy archaeology-themed crafts - all free.
30–31 July: Roman Week 🛡️
Take part in archaeological activities and Roman-themed crafts for free, or create a mini mosaic for an additional £5.
6–7 August: Medieval Week ⚔️
Enjoy free medieval-themed crafts inspired by life in the Middle Ages.
13–14 August: Tudor Week 👑
Take part in free Tudor-themed crafts, or make a clay tile for an additional £5.
20–21 August: Victorian Week 🧺
Step back in time and try washing clothes like a Victorian, alongside free Victorian-themed crafts.
27–28 August: Toys from the Past Week 🧸
Round off the summer by exploring toys from across history, bringing all the time periods together in a fun, hands-on experience.
With a different theme each week, there’s plenty to discover at Denny Abbey & the Farmland Museum this summer 🌟.
Combine your visit with a refreshment stop at The Docky Box Cafe where you will find a selection of hot and cold drinks, snacks, sandwiches and ice creams available, plus plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The museum will also be open.
