Nestled along the idyllic River Cam, Hinxton Watermill is a 17th-century working mill located in a beautiful spot in the attractive village of Hinxton.

There has been a water mill on the River Cam at Hinxton since at least 1086. The present building was constructed in the 1600s, while the adjoining cottage was built in the 1700s.

Hinxton Watermill is owned and cared for by local charity Cambridge Past, Present & Future, who need your help to support the opening and care of the mill.

The exterior of Hinxton Watermill can be visited at any time.

On six Sundays during the summer the Mill is opened and guides will show you how the mill works and tell you the history of this important building. Homemade cakes and teatime favourites will be served at Hinxton Village Hall. See Hinxton Watermill events for full opening details

Group visits can also be arranged at other times, please get in touch to enquire.

There are also walks along the river and two picnic tables to sit and soak up the gorgeous surroundings.
