Hand-Stitched Stories; Metaphors & Symbols is an exhibition focussing on the human condition, told through mixed media textiles. Sabine Kaner’s work generates conversations on identity, mental health, memory and personal experiences, using colours, symbols and semi-abstract compositions to create visual narratives.

Sabine trained as a fine art print maker at St Martins in London, Manchester School of Art and Central School of Art. Her use of hand stitch follows a long tradition of sewing by hand, passed down by her mother and grandmother. She often uses donated clothing from family and friends, charity shop finds and locally sourced felt to create her startlingly rich and vibrant works.

The gallery is also open during evening events for concert ticket holders.
