Suitable for 10+ accompanied by an adult.
Following on from successful green woodturning workshops held at Denny Abbey and the Farmland Museum a the team from Blended Monkey Crafts will run another workshop this summer!
At this workshop, participants will learn how to take a log of green wood, trim it with an axe, draw it to shape using a shave horse and a draw knife, and then use the pole lathe to turn the piece into an item of their choice.
The sessions are hands-on, allowing participants to use green woodworking equipment and the pole lathe to create their pieces.
The tuition can be tailored to individual preferences, as people tend to learn more quickly when working in areas that interest them. Participants can choose from a number of items suitable for beginners or those relatively new to the craft.
All of the wood used is from sustainable local sources.
The fabulous on-site Docky Box Tearoom has some truly scrumptious food to tempt you at lunchtime with plenty of delicious treats, so you won’t go hungry.
