Guided Rare Orchid Walk to Haslingfield Quarry
Quarry Lane

The walk to the top of Money Hill is moderately steep and can be slippery when wet. Nettles and brambles are common - wear sturdy shoes and long trousers, bring your own drinks and sunhats.
Haslingfield Quarry, also known as the clunch pit, is one of only two sites in Beds, Northants, and Cambs recorded by the Wildlife Trust that hosts the rare Man Orchid. This undisturbed chalk grassland, a County Wildlife Site, also features Bee Orchids, Twayblades, Common Spotted Orchids, Pyramidal Orchids, and other native wildflowers.
Join Parish Councillor Clive Blower for a walk and talk organised by the Haslingfield and Harlton Eco Group, including historical insights about the Quarry and nearby cottages, and an optional climb to the top of Money Hill for panoramic views across the county and towards Cambridge.
This walk is part of Cambridge Past, Present & Future's Nature Festival.
