This is a welcome return to the Granary for Gwilym Bowen Rhys, a compelling and charismatic performer, and a firmly established ambassador for Welsh-language song.

In 2019 he was nominated for the Folk Singer of the Year Award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and won Best Solo Artist Award at the Welsh Folk Awards. He has represented Wales in performances at the British Embassy in Paris, the National Eisteddfod, and with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

His fifth album, Aden, introduces fellow acclaimed Welsh musicians, harpist Gwen Màiri and fiddler Patrick Rimes. The trio present an afternoon of traditional song, old legends and shanties, from the humorous to the raw, surprising, fresh and hugely entertaining. Gwilym's engaging presentation always keeps the non-Welsh speaker abreast of what is happening.
