With a career spanning 40 years, Ophelia has exhibited work in over 100 shows in the UK and overseas, painted several murals and produced two books. She became a household name in 2021 when she won Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year and was David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year 2023 in the Environmental Artivism and Editor's Choice categories. Her 2014 illustrated book, The Lemur's Tale, was nominated for the Kate Greenaway Prize for Children's Literature.
Her figurative oil paintings are versed in traditional techniques with a symbolic language of her own, and her current work explores the relationship between civilisation and the wilderness, highlighting the conflicts and the possibilities of change.

'Ophelia Redpath is the most brilliant artist of her type currently working in Britain. To my eye, the special field of art that she represents falls into a radiant pocket of the spectrum that runs from illustration to painting, with all the purity and self-sufficiency of the unique painted work of art'. - Clive James
'Much of my work is based on hearsay, via reading, films, concerts, conversations, travels, or simply an inner vibration which needs to turn into something living. Perhaps my work is a form of painted gossip'. - Ophelia Redpath
