Purcell and a Pint
Join Eboracum for an afternoon of rowdy drinking songs, popular folk tunes, instrumental sonatas and more! Purcell and a pint will transport you back to the alehouses of 17th century England. Taverns were raucous surroundings and overflowed with music, alcohol, sex, gossip, fights, fumes, shouting, singing, laughing, dancing…. this performance won’t have all of those!
This performance will be a mixture of instrumental tunes and songs by Purcell and lots of his contemporaries to create a 17th century pub gig. Audience participation is a must!
This is a new programme, so if you’ve been before, there will be lots of new tunes, but some old favourites will remain.
Beer collaboration to be announced. Non-alcoholic refreshments also available.
