Poet Laureate Simon Armitage's unpretentious, lyrical writing is rich in descriptive colour, empathy and candid humour. Whether reflecting on the beauty and banality of modern existence, ancient ancestry or contemporary issues around class, ecology and urban decay, his poems are full of meaning, yet delivered with a characteristic lightness of touch which has made him a household name. 

Pre-concert food will be available to purchase. Ticket holders will be sent an email a week before the date of the concert with details of the menu and information on ordering.
