The Farmland Museum and Denny Abbey  is opening its doors to everyone as part of Heritage Open Days, England’s largest festival of history and culture.

Home to Benedictine Monks, Knights Templars and Franciscan Nuns, before becoming a farmhouse, the stories of Denny Abbey's inhabitants can be seen in its exposed pillars, beams and arches. The Farmland Museum sits in the grounds of Denny Abbey and showcases farming and domestic artefacts used in this part of the Cambridgeshire Fens up to the middle of the last century.

There is normally an admission charge to access the whole site, but for one day only it's free to take a look around this fascinating site and find out more about its 850 year history.

Combine your visit with a refreshment stop at The Docky Box Cafe where you will find a selection of hot and cold drinks, snacks, sandwiches and ice creams available, plus plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
