Just a short stroll, ride or punt trip away from the bustle of Cambridge lies The Orchard in Grantchester. It's an oasis of thought-provoking calm, that has been an essential part of Cambridge life for over 120 years.
Renowned for the huge number of famous people who have enjoyed its genteel setting, The Orchard is the place to relax and soak up the atmosphere of a bygone era. Sitting under its trees, or sheltering in the warmth of its historic Pavilion, you are sharing in the great English tradition of morning coffee or afternoon tea, and following in the footsteps of generations of Cambridge students at a place which remains 'Forever England'.
The Orchard serves morning coffee, light lunches, afternoon and cream teas, cakes and its famous homemade scones under its fruit trees in late spring, summer and early autumn. In winter, and when the weather is inclement, these are served indoors in the warmth of the Rupert Brooke Room.
