Suitable for beginners to the craft and children 14+ accompanied by an adult.
Following on from successful silk painting workshops held at Denny Abbey and the Farmland Museum the team from Blended Monkey Crafts will run another workshop this summer!
At this workshop, participants will learn how to take a piece of blank silk and create a beautiful 55cm x 55cm silk scarf or wall hanging painted in your own or provided design.
In this relaxing and therapeutic silk painting session, you’ll discover how to take a design of your choice (there will be a selection of designs to use if you don’t want to come up with your own), trace your design on the silk using a fade pen, attach the silk to a frame with special pins, and apply gutta contouring medium to provide outlines.
Once the gutta has dried (after lunch) you’ll learn how to mix various colours to create your very own palette and how to apply the paint to the silk.
The whole procedure will be explained from start to finish by Louise and also with the aid of real-time footage on a large screen showing each step up close.
The fabulous on-site Docky Box Tearoom has some truly scrumptious food to tempt you at lunchtime with plenty of delicious treats, so you won’t go hungry.
Book via this link or please email Blended Monkey at enquiries@blendedmonkey.co.uk or give them a call on 07417 522366.
